I've tried a couple of different brands of clips and think these work the best so far
This is the fourth type of these clips I have used and these are BY FAR the best I have used. However, the only way they finally worked was when I installed them I folded the tarp and put small piece of wooden dowel inside the fold and put the clip over the fold and then tightened. I used to have to re-secure my tarp every few weeks but since I got these and installed them with the wooden dowels I have not had to touch them and it's been a couple of months.
I purchased a new cover and tie-down clips for my SUV from an online retailer that specializes in car covers. The cover is well-made and quite durable. Yet the tie-down clips that they offer as an accessory do not stay clipped onto the cover once you hook the bungee type tie between it and the one on the opposite side. Nothing like getting slapped in the face by a flying bungee cord with a metal hook on the end! They are tightened using a sliding piece of plastic that just slides loose with the least bit of tension. The sliding piece broke on one of them when I tried to tighten it. Amazon to the rescue! These clips are tightened in a way that keeps them from loosening up then tension is applied and works perfectly to replace those others (that were even more expensive). I'd recommend these to anyone needing a tie-down clip for a tarp or car cover.
OK, I got sick and tired of looking through THOUSANDS of tarp clamps/clips. What made be buy these? Every one of the other clamps said they were HEAVY DUTY. Go Ahead, try to believe that EVERY tarp clamp made is heavy duty - thousands of heavy duty clamps and no normal ones. This disgusted me so badly that I bought the ONLY ONE that was honest enough to not claim that it was heavy duty. I am certain that these Tekton clips are every bit as heavy duty as the others, they sure seem strong enough to me and they are working just great on my cloth gazebo roof. Fight back, people - buy clamps from the honest seller.
I'm THRILLED TO THE CORE with the clips. They are one of my favorite purchases...!! I've enclosed two photos that were taken in 10-20 mph winds. The car cover didn't budge a inch. PERFECT. End of battle.
Not a conventional use for these tarp clips but I read other reviews and figured if they can withstand hurricane winds, then they can handle me asleep. I bought the clips to keep my down comforter from clumping up/moving around inside my duvet cover. The clips work great. So clip your tarps or comforter with ease! They will hold. Awesome product. :)
That being said, these tarp clips are the BEST I have ever used. They stay put, hold on tight, and don't tear/fray the tarp. I recommend them without reservation.
I used these on the skirt of my bike cover to hold it down with bungee cords while mounted on the bike rack. Stops the cover from billowing at 70mph! They are fantastic! They grip without tearing the fabric and are easy to relocate around the skirt. Much better than grommets. Highly recommended.
First off, let me start off by saying that I do not use these for the traditional purpose. I was looking for a clamp to secure the garbage bag to a large trash bin. I was getting sick of tying the knot in the bag. These work perfect. I use 3 of them and the bag never falls in to the can.
These clips are excellent for grabbing and hanging. I use them to hang cargo blankets onto drywall in my home studio for sound control. They work just as the manufacturer stated and they are very affordable. I love them.
Once you get these you will start finding all sorts of uses for them! And if you like to camp (TT or tent camping) These will become must haves when you go! everything from tarps, rain flys to tightening up aftermarket seat covers in your car!
Very strong clip - no screw stripping as I had seen in reviews of other clips. The Nylon material construction almost seems like they have added a filler to the resin to improve its tensile strength. Very little plastic deformation as you tighten the screw. Highly recommend.
My gazebo/canopy cover was sagging and retains pools of water (mosquitoes called it a wonderful bat and birth place) clipped the to opposite sides and attached paracord using trucker’s hitch. Stretched taught and has worked for months now!
I purchased these to use on a camping trip. They held up well after a week holding down our tarps. They survived several wind / rain storms with no issue. Clamped tight and held on with no issues.
Good product..keeps the cover down in these crazy winds.
Non of these have broken yet, and they are easily a better hold than sliding lock clips. They make it super easy to rig shades, tapestries for privacy, and clothes lines at camp.
This tie down is a versatile clamp. It can not only be used for tarps but for other purposes also. I use my clamps for a water proof blanket for my golf cart seats. They clamp 🗜 open a 1/4” and they have a turn knob that tightens down tight and secure .
